Julie Akeret is an independent filmmaker living in Western Massachusetts. She has a BA from Columbia University in psychology. For the past thirty years, she has worked in various capacities of the film industry as a sound editor, camera operator, director and producer. Her films have won numerous awards and are distributed by Women Make Movies, Filmakers Library and Bullfrog Films. Julie Akeret is a member of The National Academy of Television and Sciences, Women in Film and Video / New England, and Women Make Movies NYC.
